Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is a fully funded scholarship for Egyptian students who are seeking to embark on the journey of securing their Degrees at renowned Universities in the United States of America.

This scholarship is given based on merit, need and character as demonstrated through excellence in academia, extracurricular activities, and entrepreneurial initiative.

The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship covers full tuition, living allowance, travel and health insurance.

Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Benefit, Amount and Coverage

The amount given to recipients of Onsi Sawiris Scholarship varies depending on the course the individual is pursuing. However, you should be fully assured that once you are selected, the full cost of tuition, health insurance, accommodation, travel cost, and living allowance will be taken care of.

Eligibility Criteria for Onsi Sawiris Scholarship

Now, let us look at the eligibility criteria for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship. As stated earlier, this scholarship opportunity is for both Graduate and Undergraduate students. For this reason, we shall look at the Eligibility Criteria for both of them.

Eligibility Criteria – Undergraduate Scholarship

· GPA 3.5 / 90% in Thanaweyya Amma certification (Secondary year) or equivalent certificates.
· TOEFL iBT ®: 100 or above (taken within 2 years).
· Minimum SAT I Score: 1450 (Taken within 2 years) or Minimum ACT Score: 32 (Taken within 2 years)
· Extracurricular Activities: Have been involved or are currently involved in extracurricular activities.
· Fields of Study: Engineering, Economics, Political Science, Finance and Management
· Be planning to start their studies in the U.S.A in the year 2022.
· Be Egyptian nationals, who are residents of Egypt (preference will not be given to dual nationality applicants).
· Have not lived more than 3 years abroad.
· Be committed to coming back to Egypt for two years directly after the successful completion of their bachelor’s degree.

Important notes:

· Preference will be given to candidates who have not lived, worked, or studied abroad for a significant period of time. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is only granted to the list of endorsed universities provided below:
            – University of Chicago
            – Stanford University
            – University of Pennsylvania
            – Harvard University
· Selection as a nominee for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program does not guarantee university acceptance. Applicants will be supported in applying for these universities. If nominated for the scholarship; the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program award will be made once university acceptance is obtained.

Eligibility Criteria – Graduate Scholarship

· GPA :                   3.5 / Very Good or above (Overall grade)
· TOEFL iBT ®:        100 or above
· MBA – GMAT:      650 or above (taken within 5 years)
· MA in Engineering:
            – Old GRE scores are no longer acceptable.
            – New GRE scores: Minimum acceptable
                        – Overall: 315 (Analytical Writing: 4.5)
· Extracurricular Activities: Have been involved or are currently involved in extracurricular activities.
· A minimum of three years working experience (only for MBA).
· Fields of Study: Engineering, Business Administration, and Construction management.
· Be planning to start their studies in the U.S.A in the year 2022.
· Be Egyptian nationals, who are residents of Egypt (preference will not be given to dual nationality applicants).
· Plan on pursuing their master’s degree at one of the participating top universities in the United States in the field of Business Administration or Engineering.
· Have not lived more than 3 years abroad.
· Be committed to coming back to Egypt for two years directly after the successful completion of the degree.

Important notes:

· Candidates who already have one Master’s degree from a foreign university, or who have an Egyptian Master’s degree in the same field they are applying for will not be considered.
· Candidates with an Egyptian Master’s degree in a technical field different from the one that they’re applying for will be considered.
· Preference will be given to candidates who have not lived, worked, or studied abroad for a significant period of time.
· Selection as a nominee for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program does not guarantee university acceptance. Applicants will be suported in applying for the below approved universities only. If nominated for the scholarship; the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program award will be made once university acceptance is obtained.
